CFP® exam—the gold standard in financial planning
By RUDY EDELEN / CFP®
After a few years of being carefully stowed away in my desk (disregard the coffee stains), I finally have my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ diplomas looking presentable in the new office.
Countless time of studying and coursework after working hours went into this effort. Although not a requirement to have in our industry, the CFP® exam is largely considered the gold standard in financial planning. CFP® professionals must accrue thousands of hours of experience and are rigorously trained in 72 areas of financial expertise before sitting for the pass/fail exam.
The core knowledge topics include:
- General Financial Planning principles
- Investment planning
- Tax planning
- Estate planning
- Risk Management / Insurance planning
- Retirement Savings & Income planning
- Education planning
- Professional Conduct & Regulation
Lastly and most importantly, as a CFP® professional I’m held by the CFP® Board to act as a fiduciary when providing financial advice to a client.
If our team of four CFP® professionals can be of service or value in any capacity, please put us to work for you.
